Do hotels no longer carry Jacuzzi tubs? I live in Los Angeles, CA and for my birthday I'm looking to go a hotel in either LA or Orange County in a room w/ a Jacuzzi tub. I've looked around I can't find anything that isn't a SUPER LUXURY SUITE for like $10,000 a night. I'm looking for something simple and classy for close to $200 (a little over or below is fine). I've found suites in five start hotels for that range, is it so much to ask that I have a full sized Jacuzzi tub (not a tiny whirlpool that only fits one person, I need to fit two) in a not seedy motel? Either way, does anyone have any recommendations of any beautiful (romantic is the goal) hotels I could stay at for my birthday with my girlfriend? Either with extremely nice amenities or a beautiful view of something (not like a garden or pool, I'm talking ocean, or downtown LA city view). I've been looking at the Ayres hotel in Costa Mesa/Newport Beach. It looks immaculate and there's a package for around $220 for a gourmet dinner + one night. Romantic. :)
Does anyone know how to find house sitting jobs and or know of any cheap accommodations in Orange County, CA? Orange County, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Beach Area... I reside in New York State. I am an Art Teacher and work at the Niagara Arts & Cultural Center in Niagara Falls, NY. I would be traveling with a friend to Orange County. My friend is a Sociology Professor in Niagara Falls, NY. We both reside in New York State and have been to Orange County, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Beach area a number of times. My sister and her husband live in Aliso Viejo and have resided there for about eight years or so. I thought I should mention that I do not house sit for a profession, but I would be seeking to house sit because of this particular situation. I have a very dear brother in-law who lives in Orange County and has been battling Melanoma for over five years. Unfortunately, he has taken a turn for the worse and we know that we will have to be coming out to your area at some point. It could be very soon. We would most likely be available for a week or so when the time comes. However, under these circumstances we do not have a date for when we will have to be traveling to Aliso Viejo. But, I thought that perhaps I would check into house sitting as an alternative to staying in a hotel when the time comes. I thought I could be providing a service in exchange for a home to stay in while I'm in California. This would probably be "a last minute situation" but, I would be more than willing to house sit if our times correspond. So, I encourage anyone to keep me posted about any potential dates that service may be required for house sitting over the next couple of weeks or months I am very responsible I live in and own my own home, I have also restored a number of homes in my area. So, I am very good at taking care of a home. The home I reside in is a Victorian that has five bedrooms and three floors, I am responsible for the cleaning and general up keep. My partner and long time spouse and I have both worked on restoring homes and are currently doing some renovation to the home we currently reside in. My friend is a home owner as well, is very responsible and actively supports the arts and many arts organizations. We are both world travelers and would most assuredly take good and proper care of your home. We are both animal lovers as well. Thank you...

Beach Wedding Outfit, appropriate? I'm pretty sure my cousin is getting married ON the beach, if not it is in a hotel right by the beach. I'm thinking of going with a beachy/formal-ish ensemble. I'd like to wear a cute, just below the knee red, white and burnt orange sundress, black athena sandals, a puka shell heart shaped necklace and anklet and a silver bangle. If the ceremony is outside I'll wear black sunglasses with three simple rhinestones at the temple (the nuptials take place at 2 in the afternoon). Is this too informal?
What's the nicest mid priced hotel near Landshark stadium? Going to the Orange Bowl game in January and need a nice, clean and safe (but not real expensive) hotel in the vacinity of the stadium. I'll have a car so someting near the beach would be a bonus. Maybe I needed to say within a reasonable distance to the stadium. I realize I'm not getting a room within walking distance.
Where should we stay in Gulf Shores,AL? We want the beach at our doorsteps, non smoking, hotel, or condo,,and not over 200 a nt. sleep 4. Can u give us any recommendations? (orange beach will be fine too)
Beach weddings--Laguna Beach, CA? Does anyone know about having a wedding on the beach, not necessarily coordinated through a resort, hotel or restaurant there? My stepson is recently engaged, and by the time of the wedding they are hoping to already be living in California. Since they probably won't know many people out there by that time and just family will be willing to make the trip, it will most likely be like a very small destination wedding. They want something simple, on a beach. I checked out beaches in LA county, and they have info about having a wedding on the beach (basically no charge, but a permit is required if you are going to be doing any kind of set up (chairs, arch, pillars, etc.). Orange County doesn't have any detailed info, and just says to call the park district for info. I personally like Laguna Beach, and it seems a little more removed from the craziness of LA (though I've never been there, so I could be wrong). I found a nice resort with a restaurant on the beach, but they charge up to $5,500 just to rent the ceremony and reception location. Food, beverages, tax and gratuity for (minimum) 50 people would be another $8,000. That's over $13,000 for just the ceremony and reception. Plus I doubt it will even be 30 people, much less 50, so we may not even meet their minimum. Has anyone had or looked into having a small, informal ceremony on the beach in OC and then dinner at a nice restaurant afterward? If so, what are the rules and regulations in Orange County? And can you recommend any mid to upscale beachfront restaurants in Laguna Beach. The wedding party might want to go clubbing afterward, so if you know if any decent night clubs they could hit after dinner, that would be great, too. Thanks in advance.
Is it against the law to fish onshore by a hotel? My brother, friend and I are going to Orange beach AL for spring break in march for a week. We love fishing but only have fished freshwater or from a boat or peir on the ocean. my friend had fished off the beach in front of his hotel last summer and did not get in trouble ( we practice catch and realese) did he just get lucky and just not get caught? We are 14, but my brothers 13, would we be breaking the law if we fished on the beach but let them go? and also what test line would I want to use?
Can you Go On Vacation With Just 800 Dollars...? Hi everybody... My spouse and I want to either go to Orange Beach Alabama or Pensacola at the end of this month. We will be driving from Memphis, Tennessee and we only have 800.00 to spend. We need to get a cheap hotel to stay in (the closer the better preferably 10 minutes or less). Does anybody know of a cheap hotel or vacation package? We will be there for 3 nights total. Thanks...
Does anybody remember the name of this book? There was a book i read a few years ago about an owl solving a mystery with her sidekick. The characters in the book are animals (a goose, baboons, owl, chicken, and a few other) They are at a hotel on a beach and there is a mystery that needs to be solved and everybody is a suspect. It is a chapter book for children and i believe the title has "summer" in it. The cover is an orange-yellow and there is a picture of an owl on it. if you know the book please tell me.
Holidays to America...? Before you tell me I've already posted this or something, it seems it went into the wrong category and so wasn't being seen. I am aware that the question (seen here: http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Auhq9SZLfJraXzETcIZ58PkgBgx.;_ylv=3?qid=20090117082153AABPI4k ) already exists, but I'd appreciate help from UKers. ----- I've tried using as many of the travel agents I can think of as well as online websites and such, however, I'm getting very little (if any) information. I'm a student, so funds aren't that high. However, at the end of June/beginning of July, I am wanting to go to Los Angeles (USA) for around 7-10 nights. The details: -I'll fly from ANY airport in the UK that takes me to LAX. -There is just me, so I'm aware that a singles supplement may be needed. -I want at least 7 nights, 10 if I can get it. -I want to stay in LA, or Huntington Beach/Orange County (as they're only an hour or so away from each other, so travelling from one to the other for day trips would be easy). -I want a hotel with AT LEAST three stars and I'd prefer to go half board (but will go bed & breakfast if needed). The reason I'm wanting to go via a travel agents is to ensure my holiday will be ATOL protected, so please don't suggest I arrange flights/hotels separately, myself. Could anyone help me? Can you tell me... -Any information you find (if any) and rough idea of prices?! -Any travel agents/companies/links that might be able to help? Thanks.
I'm staying in Los Angeles next year and would like to maybe spend a few days in Hollywood and a few in OC - Orange County, somewhere around Newport Beach/Harbor. Is it easy to get from one place to the other and is it worth it? I'm flying in to Los Angeles International. Any suggested hotels/things to do. Thank you!!
Most romantic room in TX, AR, LA, AL....? I am looking for a romantic hotel room/cabin/condo in either Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, or even Oklahoma. My husband and I are going to go on vacation sometime in July and l want to have a romantic room! Let me know if you have stayed at one in one of those state or know of one! We live in TX and have looked at driving to Hot Springs, anywhere in LA, Orange Beach/Gulf Shores, Alabama, even Pensacola, Florida, or just stay right here in TX. Affordable extended Stay Hotel? I'm being sent for 2 weeks of training paid for by my State job. Here is the problem I was told I had to pick a hotel for less than $85 a night and the training is in Irvine, CA a very expensive city in Orange county near Laguna Beach. I need a hotel with a kitchen I can't eat fast food for two weeks, I can't afford that and it is bad for my health. What should I do? Right now I can't afford to make up the difference because I havn't gotten paid yet. Anyone know of any? The cheapest room I found was 118 a month with my government discount. I checked marriot, extened stay everywhere in Irvine she says it has to be in irvine. Should thye increase my voucher amount?
Does anyone HAVE monopoly here and now? i lost 3 properties. 1 red and 2 orange.... i need to find the rent, mortgage, house and hotel pricing on the following properties: Disney World,Orlando : Red South Beach, Miami: Orange Pioneer Square, Seattle: Orange PLEASE.... i need to play for a bet! i need your help... thanx
Monopoly game, question about mortgaging? My friends and i have been arguing about this for quite a while already. we've read the rule book countless times and it is as if its not clear to them. if i own 2 airports (here and now edition, otherwise railroads) and airport A is on mortgage while airport B is not mortgage and is active. they land on airport B; would i get rent for only one airport since airport A is mortgaged or would i get credit for both therefore get the amount of 500,000??? same situation different example: i own all three properties within the same color group for example the orange which are South Beach, Pioneer, and Johnson (and NONE have houses nor hotels). So i have Johnson Space Center on mortgage, yet they land on South Beach. Would i get rent for only South Beach or would i get double rent because all three are mine?? their argument is that upon mortgaging, the property is now turned over to the bank therefore no rent could be collected for it.
How many times have you gotten drunk? Twice so far. First time I was on spirng break in Myrtle Beach with my friends. I got drunk off of everclear, orange soda and orange juice. I we went swimming in the pool and out on the beach.I allegedy got naked in our hotel room and danced around. My friends fed me, and I went to slept and I woke up a couple hours later. 2nd time, a nice game of Kings!!! Usually I'm a little buzzed, but those times I didn't eat anything so I got drunk.
Planning a trip to California? Me and a friend are planning a trip next year to California, preferably landing at LAX and visiting the main attractions, and also visiting Orange County and checking out the beaches. We just need some practical advice, how to get around, how far away places are from each other, good attractions, good hotels etc? Thank You :)
I am 16 and can not find a job? I'm 16 and getting really frustrated trying to find a job. I've already tried a waterpark (they said they're all full), GAP (they said you need to be 18), a hotel near my house (they don't have any jobs I want), and another place (said they aren't hiring). I live in a touristy beach town in Orange County with lots of shops but I am having no luck finding a job does anyone have any ideas? (and I do not want to work at a fast food restaurant or the grocery store)... help... sorry i do not know if this is the right category.
A story that I am writing i need feedback. Would you read it? What should i add? (it is a long story)? We stand on the beach holding hands while the sand caresses our feet. The sunset is so beautiful that it makes me want to cry. This whole moment makes me want to cry. I never knew that I could love someone so much. “Hey want to count down the sunset?” Jayme asks I shrug my shoulder not wanting to say anything to ruin the moment. “OK then. 10, 9, 8, 7...” He squeezes my hand with every number. I wish this moment would last forever. He has to start over about 5 times. I laugh. When the sun finally goes down I say “I want ice cream.” He smiles at me warmly and says “Ok then, I’ll buy” I shake my head and take out my own money. “OK then you buy.” We walk hand in hand to the pier. The line moves slowly while the guy behind the counter takes as long as possible. I can feel him looking at me. Like there is anything to look at. When it is our turn Jayme orders chocolate ice cream with chocolate sprinkles. “Umm, a small caramel sundae please.” I say. We walk over to a nearby bench and take a seat. I sit there and watch my ice cream melt. Lost in thought. I can’t believe that Jayme chose me over all the girls that want him. I look at him from the corner of my eye. I admire his cinnamon colored skin and his cold blue eyes while he eats his ice cream. “Are you going to eat that” he asks eyeing my ice cream “Or are you going to wait until it turns into a milkshake?” “You’re fat.” I say handing him the melting ice cream. “I know” he says snatching it from me eagerly. When he finishes eating my sundae we walk to the edge of the pier. When we reach the edge we stare up at the stars. After a long silence he asks “So what color dress are you wearing to Prom. You know its only a week away.” “Probably one of my normal colors, blue, black something like that.” I say “Well I think you should go for a new color this year like maybe orange or something.” “Not to sound corny but I will wear anything as long as I am going with you.” He bursts into laughter. Obviously he thought I was kidding but I was dead serious. I stare daggers at him until he is finished laughing at me. When he notices my death stare he smiles his model smile. I instantly smile back at him. Who could resist his beautiful face? He laughs and leans over me and kisses my lips tenderly. His warm full lips making the butterflies in my stomach do a crazy dance. When he finally pulled away my breathing was heavy and despite the cold little beads of sweat was on my forehead. “We have been together for almost a year and a half and you still act like that after I kiss you?” He laughs “Sorry you’re an amazing kisser” I say embarrassed my words. “I know I am” he says. I slap him in the back stand up and run as fast as I can to his car. As usual he catches me and throws me over his shoulder like a backpack. “You want to go home?” He asks when we are safely inside his green jeep ” Let’s drive around for a bit” I say. He nods and turns on the radio and starts to sing. We drive around the city for an hour looking at the expensive restaurants and novelty shops that surround us in Wilmington, North Carolina. We watch the drunken tourists stumble across the street to their hotels and the couples watch the boats in the water. Before I know it we are at my house and he is shaking me awake. “Time to wake up” he whisper in my ear. “What time is it?” I yawn “Just a little after 1:30” “Wow it’s pretty late” “Yup” he says rubbing one of his eyes “Well see you later” I say leaning over to give me a kiss but before I could reach his lips he catches my head. “I think we need to talk about something” he whispers “What I say” angrily, a little hut by the rejection. “College” I lean back in my seat and stare angrily out the window. “What about it” “Mia, were seniors, we graduate in 3 months, I would think that was a very important issue.” “Yeah, 3 months that means we have nine months to wait. I don’t want to talk about this right now” I huff “Well I want to talk about it right now. I am worried OK.” His voice cracks at the end. I turn my head to look at him. His reflection in the glass looks anxious. “Ok fine” I say quickly “Lets talk about it” He rubs both of his eyes and looks seriously into my face. “Mia I got accepted to California University and I know that you got accepted at Pennsylvania University. I don’t want to leave you but this school looks promising and I think it’s the only college I will get accepted to. You have been talking about going to Penn State since we were freshmen so you have to go to that school. I was just wondering if you wanted to keep a relationship going even though we are so far away from each other.” It takes me a while to take in what he is saying. “Well” I start slowly” I have 2 things to say about this. 1: You should go to any college that you want. 2: why wouldn’t I want a long distance relationship? I love you.” “Ok good” he sighs with relief “I have one more thing to tell you. California is full of hot gir
Could this have been seen as a racist comment? (Possible?)? I never seen it like this. Ok she was a white lady and she had a amazing tan (you know the tan that is so good that it only exists in magazines) Most of the time they miss spots, or appear orange, but hers was amazing! It was perfect!! I wasn't thinking straight. And thought out along without considering how she would take it and told her that her tan looks gorgeous.............well she was so happy that I am her favorite (I am a cashier for a gift shop in the hotel right on the beach!) also she made sure my managers knew that I was a great worker! But is it possible she could of thought it was a racist comment? Was I out of line for commenting on her tan? I mean commenting on her (tan) skin tone. I was happy she took it well. Sometimes I speak without considering if I am wrong first.

thoughts about my book? Recently I thought of a book idea that I'm writing for my best friend (I know, it sounds a little strange but it's for her b-day and it's a long story why). Anyway below I posted the first chapter. Its not much, mostly just an introduction. Please read it and give me some feedback. If you want to find out more of what the book's about, email me with your questions. Thanks, and please don't be rude. Do you ever wish life was like those predictable movies? The ones with adventure, romance, and just the right amount of dangerous conflict to keep you entertained? Of course, the characters overcome these conflicts through impossible odds and everything is alright. End of story. Life, however, is not a movie. Rarely are any of us put in such exciting scenarios, and if by stroke of luck we were to be put in such a scenario, even more rarely would any of us obtain a similar outcome. Take my life for example. When I was three, my parents’ marriage had a very unfairytale-like ending when my father walked out on us. My mother, Diane, bounced back well enough, but since then we’ve never put down roots in any one place. I can think of seven other towns I’ve inhabited over the sixteen years of my life before settling here, in the small and sunny town of Rainbow, California. “This time’s going to be different, I promise.” My mother had assured me after informing me of out latest move. I’d heard that one before. This time, at least, there had been a different reason for the move. Too many times Diane had decided to pack up and hit the road after a breakup in an attempt to reinvent her life. Now, she had been offered a full-time job as a dance instructor at a studio in Rainbow and had decided to jump at the opportunity. Before Rainbow, we lived in the considerably larger city of Seattle. The first thing I noticed as we drove by a cheery sign in the shape of, you guessed it, a rainbow welcoming us into the town was the clear blue sky and the summer heat. It is a much warmer place than Seattle, where it rains much more often. When I first found out about the move, my mother, in an attempt to cheer me, told me that Rainbow was a mere twenty miles away from the famed Orange County, and only fifty miles from Huntington Beach. “You know, Andy, after you meet some new friends you’ll be able to go to the beach sometime.” She’d mused enthusiastically. I doubted it. I’d never had much luck in the friend department. Of course I’d had friends, but it was hard to make lasting relationships when you moved often. At least that was my excuse, part a part of me new deep down that I just didn’t relate to others well. I was just too quiet, reserved. I was sixteen and had never even had a boyfriend, or a best friend. Books were my company. When I was feeling especially lonely, I could always lose myself in the pages of my favorite novels. It was nice to imagine I was one of the characters, leading a life full of excitement, intrigue, and passion. After arriving, I heaved all my belongings up the stairs of our newly acquired, small two-bedroom house and into my new room. I had to admit, this room was better than some of the previous ones. Its single window overlooked the front yard, with a large elm growing adjacent to it. The walls were painted a pale blue, with white trim at the bottom. The wood floor was covered wit ha large blue, green, and pink striped rug. Above which sat my bed, covered with a light green comforter. In the far corner, my room was also furnished with a small desk. Diane and I had spent the previous week hauling our possessions into the house. We had sold our home in Seattle and stayed in a small hotel just outside of town while we got things set up. Now I put the rest of my clothes in a dresser on the wall opposite my desk. It was nearing the end of summer, and school would be starting in less than a week. Diane already had me enrolled in the high school. I was anxious, to say the least, but I had been through all this before and knew what to expect. Rainbow High is a small school, with only four hundred and twelve other students. It was definitely tougher to join a small school, because it was harder to blend in. I decided not to dwell on that. I was just about finished unpacking when my cat, Ariel, streaked through the door, between my feet, and under my bed. For a cat as old and fat as Ariel, she could still run pretty fast. I got Ariel when I was four and going through a “Little Mermaid” phase. To me, it was the only name that made sense at the time. Ariel is a white and gray Himalayan. She weighs a whopping seventeen pounds. We had tried putting her on a diet before, but it was a wasted effort because we ended up feeding her as soon as we grew tired of her yowling for food. “You scared me Ari!” I scolded and then laughed. I sat on the edge of my bed and picked mindlessly at a string at the hem of my comforter. Ariel jumped up to join me. It was a struggle, but she made it. She crouched down and pawed at the string in my hand.” “What am I going to do with you?” I chuckled, and then sighed. “You know, maybe it won’t be so bad here. We’ll get used to it. Besides how horrible could it be in a town named Rainbow?” School was staring on Monday, so I was about to find out. i know not much happens yet so please be patient, if you want to whats going to happen email me

Holidays to America...? I've tried using as many of the travel agents I can think of as well as online websites and such, however, I'm getting very little (if any) information. Thanks.
If the World was so Safe before Bush took Office,How do you Explain this List??????? American Victims of Mideast Terrorist Attacks -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following is a listing of incidents in which Americans are known to have been killed by Middle East-based terrorists. The list will be updated as more information becomes available. The exact number of American casualties is difficult to calculate because of incomplete news reports regarding numbers and nationalities of those injured. The toll from the September 11, 2001, attack on the World Trade Center is also uncertain, but current figures place the number of dead above 3,000. The number of dead at the Pentagon and on the hijacked airliners numbered approximately 385. Since Yasser Arafat "renounced" violence in the Oslo Peace Accords on September 13, 1993, at least 53 Americans have been murdered and at least another 83 Americans have been injured by Palestinian terrorism. Excluding the September 11 attacks, approximately 700 Americans have been killed and 1,600 wounded in terrorist attacks since 1970. This list also includes injured Americans since Oslo 1993. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- February 23, 1970, Halhoul, West Bank. Palestinian Liberation Organization terrorists open fire on a busload of pilgrims killing Barbara Ertle of Michigan and wounding two other Americans. March 28-29, 1970, Beirut, Lebanon. June 29, 1975, Beirut, Lebanon. The terrorists forced the pilot to fly to Tehran where the terrorists murdered two passengers--American Agency for International Development employees, Charles Hegna and William Stanford. But U.S. Navy fighters intercepted the Egyptian aircraft flying the terrorists to Tunis and forced it to land at the NATO airbase in Italy, where the terrorists were arrested. Chapter 1, What do you think? Chapter 1: I heard Sarah yelling "Hey N'Cole"! I didn't really like Sarah but she was a good friend and who doesn't need a good friend. Summer had just ended and it was time to listen to Sarah ramble on and on about her summer full of romance and passion. This rambling usually only lasted a week or so. That is until someone new showed up. See Sarah is that girl who isn't gorgeous but isn't ugly either. She is very desirable due to her amazing personality. I mean when it comes down to it Sarah isn't so bad and I do like her it's just sometimes I find myself jealous of her and I hate it and end up hating her for it. "N'Cole, N'Cole" "I have the most amazing story to tell you" "Oh here we go again with the stories, Sarah it's always the same story with a different guy, why don't we just save sometime and tell me his name I remember the story"! Oh boy do I remember those stories. Her family goes away for the summer every your and every year it's somewhere new. How do they afford that you ask? Well its simple her dad Frank owns his own business buying people's ideas. My favorite idea he bought was the digital picture frame. Apparently some young teen needed a quick buck and got paid $150 dollars for the rights. It's a shame for the kid since the digital frames run no less than $150 brand new. Luckily for me I got one for free. As for my favorite story Sarah has told me. It all happened the summer they went to Hawaii and she fell in love or so she calls it love. Not with the cute beach guy but the towel boy at her hotel. If I remember correctly she met John or maybe it was Jay, (No it was John) from returning her pool towel. John had some questionable story about getting hit by a car and was thus stuck being a towel boy. Well Sarah being Sarah thought he was cute and agreed to see him while she was there. They met up on the beach way late at night, held hands, and walked all through out the beach. She said "It had been the most romantic thing ever!" Although personally I find water to always make a romantic setting. I don't find a late night Ronde-Vu with the towel boy to be romantic. They didn't work out, her summer flings never did. That was always her choice and a wise choice at that. The thing about this story that made it my favorite was that on her last night at the hotel Mr.Towelboy thought he was going to get lucky. Even though I find Sarah over uses the word love she at least has some morals I can agree with. The "No Sex" policy is one of my favorites. Well not only did he make the mistake of trying to get lucky he tried to do it in a hammock. Apparently getting shoved out of a hammock may lead to a broken arm and in the case of John a broken ego as well. That annoying, leave your ears ringing, bell for class rang. "That's the bell I don't want to be late on the first day see you at lunch N'Cole" Our first year of school here at Broken Ridge High School as freshmen we had all but one class together. Being good friends + having the same class=cheating and too much of each other. So from sophomore year on we chose not to take a class together if possible, not having the same class really made us value out time together more, as for the cheating well sometimes you just have to. I shut my very ugly purple locker, looked down the hall, and began my walk to 1st hour. First period wasn't so bad I really did like the idea of psychology. The things you can discover and recover my only thing is that if your mind doesn't remember it, it must not be that important or maybe you forgot it for a reason. Well my five other classes were boring as usual except my final class English. I just love English it has always been on top of my favorite's list, but this year my teacher made it out like it is going to be my best year of English ever. I am not a big fan of writing and it looks like we are going to be doing a lot of it this year. Mrs. Cromwell my English teacher gave us a list of supplies and five 100 page notebooks was first on that list followed by 1 binder, dividers, pens, pencils and 10 packs of filler paper. With all those supplies I can only see large amounts of essays and papers in my future. All throughout the day I would turn left or turn right and I was always catching someone in a stare and before I could even say “Hi” or even acknowledge them they would turn away. Sarah offered to give me a ride home from school and I gladly accepted seeing how my truck was in the shop and would be there for a while since the accident. Although I don't care too much as to what people think about me, riding a bus full of smelly freshmen guys as a senior just isn't too highly looked upon. One thing you notice when driving through Broken Ridge is that the houses are all very small one to three bedroom one floor homes. The house's may all be small but not one looks the same and you never know what will be in someone's front yard. I vividly remember last year the Brooklyn boys got a hold of Mr. Larks chicken and had tied him up by the foot to a steak in the ground. That chicken squawked uncontrollably and if I remember right they were using it as bait to catch a dinosaur like off of Jurassic Park since they couldn't find a goat. Finally we pulled into my driveway. Sarah love's coming over and I think it's because my house is the one exception to the one story small home usual out here. Now don't get me wrong I love my home but it's not exactly the first thing you think of when you hear five bedroom three bathroom home. The old wooden house could use some paint and our lawn could use some tending but I just keep procrastinating. One thing I do truly love is the big oak tree out front I used to climb to get to my secret spy station. There are still probably melted peach rings on the high branches from me trying to catch them in my mouth but unfortunately they always seemed to go up too high. I was about to shut the door to Sarah's very cute Toyota corolla (?) when she stopped me saying. "Hey do you want to pick up our school stuff tonight"? "Sure thing Sarah" "Alright I'll be back here in a couple of hours when I finish dinner". I shut the door and walked all the way up my driveway listening to the gravel crunch under my feet to the front door. Opening the door to my house and looking in all you can see is out living room to the left with our medium sized T.V. and the mix matched couches. If you look right you can see out kitchen. It isn't in the best shape but it isn't so bad. Since my mom left when I was nine I've had to step up my cooking skills. My dear old dad couldn't melt butter if his life depended on it. I grabbed an apple from the fridge, pretzels from the pantry, and headed up the stairs past the guest room with a bathroom for the guests we never had. I climbed the wretched stairs everyday but occasionally I saved sometime and would just fall down them. My dad was never much of a decorator that was usually my mother's job and when she left she took everything from their room. Leaving my dad with a queen bed, brown bedding, his mom's antique armoire, and a "15 Inch" Television he always leaves on when he sleeps. I tend to be a late night; don't need much sleep kind of girl so I usually turn it off for him. At the end of the hall there are two doors one to your left and one to the right. To the left will lead to what was going to be my brothers or sisters rooms if they ever had anymore children. Fortunately for me that didn't end up happening. Since my mother left my dad gave me free will with the house. I decide to use that freewill to turn these two medium sized rooms into one very large library office combo. Of course I had to take down a wall and let me tell you it’s not as easy as it sounds. You have to do more than take a sledge hammer to a wall. Even though it was harder than I had planned it was worth it. This room is my favorite room and my second favorite place to be. Part of the reason it’s my favorite is for the mere fact that I have spent so many endless hours dedicated to this room. I took down my old spy station and used the planks to build the bookshelves that go from floor to ceiling. Since there wasn't enough wood from my station my dad volunteered to bring me some wood home from work at the wood, rock, and tree store. This if I say so is the best one in State. He also helped me put them together and align them seeing as my eye sight isn't so great. My mother and I were never close and when she left she said "Good-Bye and left." Before she could leave I'd asked her to let me have her books seeing as our love and passion for books was the only thing we had in common. She delightfully left them in my possession saying "Books are people, the lives they lived, and their most interworkings so take care of them as if they were your family and friends. Know that when you look at someone they are just a story waiting to be written.” Those were her last words to me so I guess it comes as no surprise that she left to California to become an author. It's her books that started filling the wraparound bookshelves but it is my books that will complete them. In one corner is a desk with a computer and printer centered on it, a filing cabinet is to the left filled with my elementary paintings, old pictures, and my high school papers. In the center of the room there are two very ugly couches that I reupholstered, a lounge chair I bought from the Broken Ridge community garage sale for $10 dollars. Smack dab in the middle of the seating is a fake fire place I built. It's some big rocks around a cut up tree branch with orange, yellow, and red construction paper cut out to look like flames. I guess you could say I am a pretty resourceful, independent, creative girl with a whole lot of free time. Going through the right door would enter into my room. What a glorious room it is. My room is all about me. The things I love like my pet fish. All ten of my exotic fish make up the 40 gallon tank lining up against one wall. On the other wall is my closet filled with old trophies, random boxes full of meaningless stuff I can't seem to get rid of, and my very small collection of clothes. In the center of the room lays my prized possession the master of all queen waterbeds. Hopping on my bed I rolled over and fell asleep.
Please answer, what do you think? Besides how horrible could it be in a town named Rainbow?” School was staring on Monday, so I was about to find out. i know not much happens yet so please be patient, if you want to know more email me
what do you think of my short story? different from last time? “It’s, so, hot!” Rose breathed out, spacing between each syllable dramatically. Her and her best friend Melanie Hart sat out on the Yetz Hotel terrace adjacent to room 264. They overlooked the glassy beach of Maine, with people walking across the stained sand carrying tiny lap dogs in polka dot beach bags and wearing no where under $15,000.00 swim suits. “Really….?” Melanie asked with sarcasm the outcome of her tone. “YES!” Melanie had to laugh at this. Rose had thought she was serious in her attempt to give a shot of wit to their conversation. “Wanna go get a pair of ice-cream cones?” Melanie asked. “Sure, Mel!” Melanie knew it was what she had wanted from the beginning. They got up off of their lounge chairs, leaving an imprint on the cushion, and walked past the opened screen-slide-door. They slid their flip flops on, Mel’s pink with a palm tree mural across both shoes, and Rose’s orange with the same printed design. “Grab your key, so we won’t get locked out like before.” Mel told Rose with a stern but playful look in her bright, unearthly green eyes. They walked out the heavy beige door and into the hallway lined with unnatural maroon shells, followed by a parade of turquoise waves. They followed the pattern down until they saw the elevator shaft sign, and made a left. Rose took the liberty of pushing the downward facing arrow, getting a shock in return. “Oww!” She shrieked as if she had been mauled with flying knives, with one of them just barely missing her cheek. They stepped into the secluded mobile room, crammed with metallic etchings on the stainless steal silver. “That’s why they probably don’t let kids in these places anymore.” Mel had a point, though, sort of a naive one. Rich people are some of the only people who can even afford to stay here; there are people waiting around every corner of this place ready to pamper you or provide many assortments of ‘fluff’. The only reason they were here was because Rose’s dad was so damn rich! Mel remembered Rose telling her that he invested in some stocks awhile ago, and evidently it paid off. The door opened to their right, and they walked out into the lobby. “I’ve never seen this place so busy!” Rose, said in disbelief. Still in awe they walked through the dozens of people standing in the check-in line. They walked across the red-wood floor boards (which were very out of place) and to the glass-slide door. Through it, they could see a portable stand, with an unusually large umbrella over it, stating “Ice-cream” in all bold letters. Mel and Rose walked casually towards the stand, each trying to decide what flavor they were going to get. In their path stood the most divine creature they had ever seen, his name tag said “Seth”. He had ashy brown hair that fell on top his perfectly shaped natural eyebrows. His hair flipped out at the end which made his indigo blue eyes make his face sweeter, and that also complimented his slim and muscular figure. Mel was glad that she had only worn her peacock feather orange, and gold beaded bikini. CONSRUCTIVE CRITISISM IS WELCOME! AND THANKS A WHOLE BUNCH! THIS ISNT THE END ITS THE VERY BEGINNING! mel and seth will like fall in love and ya have secret meetings and stuff and have fun! ya thats pretty much it! ~that was the plot~
Have you ever gotten drunk before? Yep, I got drunk for the first time last week when I went to Myrtle Beach with my friends. My friends brought Everclear and we mixed it with Sunkiss and Orange juice. I drunk a little too much and I got really really drunk, we had went to the pool and I swam in all of my clothes and I got back to our hotel room and I took off all my clothes. I tired touching this guys butt in the elevator

How's my first chapter? There might be some mistakes because I'm not finished editing it. Chapter One: On the way I looked out the window in silence. I felt the pressure building in my ears- feeling so strong that I thought I were to go deaf. I ignored the pain... thinking about how my starting line of this life would be like. I looked over at the girl next to me. She was dark blond, and kind of tan. I think she had light brown eyes- but I couldn't tell right away. She was facing forward. "Drink? Honey roasted peanuts?" I stared out the window again. The stars were beginning to come out. "Miss?" "Oh, what?" "Would you like a drink? ...Or honey roasted peanuts?" "...Oh. Sure." "Water, orange juice, Pepsi, coke, or sprite?" "I guess I'll go with the orange juice." I smiled. I wasn't in the mood for fizz. I grasped the cup and took the bag of peanuts. I sipped the orange juice- brain freeze. This juice must have been in the cooler for a long time now. The ice wasn't helping. I went to open the bag of peanuts and my arm hit the girl next to me. A few drops of sprite bursted out from the cup and jumped onto her sweatshirt. "Oh my gosh, I'm- I'm sorry-" I stuttered "-I'm slightly uncoordinated I-" She interrupted. "It's fine. Really! I have plenty of napkins, I'll fix the spill in no time..." "Oh. Okay." "I hope you don't mind me asking- are you going to Kant's Board of Academic's too?" "Yes... I am. You are?" "Yeah! Awesome, I already know someone!" "How'd you guess that I was going there?" I was confused- was I really that predictable? "Simple. You have a pencil with KBA letters on it. You were doodling with it." "Oh. That explains things." "Yupp! I'm not a stalker!" She chuckled. "Yeah, I- I know." "Yes. So... what's your name? I'm Alexandra." "Pleasure, Alexandra. I'm Brenna." "Nice to meet you, too! Brenna. Call me Alex... or Ali! Are you irish?" "Barely." "Oh. I see... are you excited for this year at KBA? I love it there!" "What? You asked me if I was going too- you said you already know someone..." "Yes. None of my friends are in my classes. This year's schedule is totally different then last year. Sophomore year will be impossible! I'm taking AP this year- I might die." "Oh. AP? I'm in Calculus... I guess that's not a class I'll have with you..." "Oh, you must love math. You're a sophomore too. I wonder why sophmore's in KBA can take classes like Calculus so early. I'm not taking that early though." "I guess you could say that." I didn't say anything about the other part she spoke about. "Where are you from?" "Clearwater Beach in Florida. We live in a condo." "Cool! Do you go to Busch Gardens a lot? Or maybe Disney World?" "No. Not really... I went to Busch Gardens twice... and I went to Disney three times." "Oh, wow. It's cool that it's not too far. Isn't that a vacation place though?" "As I said... we live in a condo. My mom works as a lobbyist in a hotel." "Awesome! That's a cool job! Which hotel?" Alexandra was very curious- she seemed like a nice girl. Too much questions for me. "Shepard's beach resort." "I've never heard of it." "Oh." Maybe my simple 'oh' would end her conversation. I was a little tired. "So what's your middle name, Brenna?" "Raychelle." "Brenna Raychelle... That's pretty! My middle name is Louise- Alexandra Louise! You like?" She asked me with big, shining eyes. "Yes. It sounds nice." "Well, my name was going to be Alyssa Katrina... but my dad didn't like it. So, his choice was Kendra Ray... because he always liked the name Rachel, but my mom hated that name so he tried shortening it. My mom was going to settle for Alyssa Kendra or Alyssa Ray but my dad wanted Kendra to be my first name. My mom still wanted my name to begin with an 'a' though. So they both came up with Alexandra and the nurse's name was Louise. My dad liked the name and suggested it so that's how-" That's when I stopped listening. Ali talked a lot- I really wanted to rest. I still had an hour left one the plane. Ali kept rambling on and on... I couldn't listen to this anymore. I had to block her out somehow... this wasn't working as much as I hoped though. "Then they were hesitating if they should go with Alicia when the name came to mind because they liked the meaning of Alicia better then the meaning of Alexandra. Alexandra meant-" I interrupted her. "Ali, I'm exhausted... and my mom made me promise I'd get some sleep on the plane. I love hearing stories as much as the next person but it's getting kind of late, I suppose... maybe you can consider telling your story later...?" "Oh. I'm sorry. You can rest... but it's not that late." "Yeah... but Florida is so far from Oregon... I had to get up so early... this two flight thing is killing me..." "Oh, yeah! Florida is really far. Like, since I live in Wyoming, it's not so bad because the flight is only a few hours so when I woke up this morning-" "Alex. Please... I real ly need to sleep." "Oh, okay. Maybe I'll sleep too..." She was lying about the sleeping. At least she'd maybe stop talking for five minutes. She's someone I need to talk to when I need to stay awake or if I feel like socializing for hours. I'll need to get her number so we can maybe hang out... I'll never be able to see a movie with her though. She can't sit still in a movie without talking for two hours and watching something. At least on the long plane ride, she can talk and she can do other things... she might not make it in a movie. The third seat in this row was empty... I was wondering who she'd talk to. I slowly pushed back until my head reached the seat. I closed my eyes for some peace. That's when I heard Ali talking about school with another girl and a boy. I overheard her... her roommate the girl she was talking to. The girl's name was Melanie, and their room number was 114 Limbust Hall. That wasn't my room. I guess my roommate would be a surprise. there is more =( oh... okay. well i just turned fifteen so... okay. at least i have honest opinions. how so? what needs work? am i just a bad writer? because then i could just give up writing or start a new story?

Date/gift ideas for 2 year anniversary? Hey, thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Here are some additional details you'll probably need to know. 1. We've been secretly dating for almost 2 years. So going for a cruise, to a hotel, or anything to do with being at home is, unfortunately, impossible. 2. I'm on a SERIOUSLY tight budget (what with the screwy economy and all... and I'm looking for 2 part-time jobs), so any date/gift ideas under $30 or so would be good. 3. Oh, and for the gift ideas, it has to be something relatively physically small, or easily can be hidden. 4. We are 19 years old. 5. We live in the orange county area in southern CA. I have a few ideas myself, so I'll list them here. Who knows, you may even be able to provide suggestions on how to improve them. 1. Weather permitting, we were thinking of going to the beach after lunch. I do have an idea of somehow downloading our song onto my mp3 player (is that what it is called, the little black thing that's really thin? ), putting one ear phone in my ear and one in his, and have a private slow dance on/near the beach. (this as a gift) 2. I've looked for any festivals/fairs during the week/on the day of March 12th, but I can't seem to find any. I was thinking of going on a Ferris wheel after dinner, too. Perhaps you can help me out on this? 3. I'm also thinking of a nice romantic dinner at a restaurant (yeah, that doesn't exactly come cheap... the picnic idea is a no go, since I'm sure we'd be interrupted by rude people. It's happened before), so any relatively cheap ones in the beach area would be nice. Especially one that recognizes special things as an anniversary. 4. In case it happens to rain/be too windy outside to go to the beach, any indoor suggestions? --- Yeah, that's pretty much the details. I really do apologize for the pickyness, but it's very rare when we both get to go out and do something that we have always wanted to do. Plus, we actually get a whole afternoon and evening to ourselves. That hasn't happened since over a year ago. So we do want to spice it up a bit. ^^; Once again, many thanks for your answers.
Help with the French language !? 10 points for the person who translates all of it and gets it accurate! I need to be able to say this in french. Could anyone please help me? Last weekend, i went bowling with my cousin and my parents. Then, we went to the cinema and watched a film. We watched a horror film. It was great. Afterwards i ate some dinner in a restaurant. I ate chicken with some salad. I also drank some orange juice. It was tasty but expensive. I stayed in a 2 star hotel. It had a swimming pool and a cafe but it was quite small. It was quite messy and very noisy. It was horrible. During the holidays i went to the beach and sunbathed. I also swam in the sea. I went shopping and i looked for some clothes to wear. I bought some sun tan lotion and a hat. I ate in a restaurant and i drank a little bit of wine. Last weekend i went to the theatre and i watched a play. It was very funny. Afterwards, i went to the museum for a while. I ate a cheeseburger in a cafe and i drank some fruit juice. Then, i went to the library and read for a couple of hours. It was interesting. At school, yesterday, i talked to my friend in the playground and then i went to maths. I ate in the canteen and i drank from the water fountain. I played netball at dinner and i walked home. It was quite boring. Thanks so much if you can help. If you don't know all of them then please could you tell me the one's you do know :) Thanks. I will type it on when i'm done ! x I have managed to do them apart from the during the holidays one and at school. I just dont know how to form the sentences for them. Please help. I know most of it I just thought it would be easier to write it in full so the bits I don't know fit in and make more sense. And I don't need an opinion thanks. Thank-you to the people that have helped so far but to the others that are judging me you don't know anything about my situation so keep your nose out. If you don't want to help don't comment. I understand what people are saying and i agree with it, i just don't need the sarcy comments.
Reputable place/person to help plan everything for a cabo san lucas vacation? I never knew planning for a vacation can be so stressful. I thought this was suppose to be a getaway vacation? Well my girlfriend and I are planning to go to Cabo San Lucas for 5-7 days for our very first vacation and we're looking to do some activities like ATV, wave runner, check out the arch and lovers beach. Do you know any reputable agent that can help recommend good places and put everything together for us for a good deal (Personal "hookups" would be nice)? The round plane trip, ride to the hotel and hotel and activity reservations. I don't know if it matters locally but I'm from Orange County, California.

Is this story and example of a short story? If not what do i need to add(short story wise -spelling punctation? I cover my sheets over my head, as I ignore me dad’s screams. It was way too early for me to even be functioning at this time. “Get up Robert, we have to leave! Get you bags and go have some breakfast,” Exclaimed my mom. I sighed and went downstairs. I had woken up to the smell of strawberries, cereal, and vanilla coffee at 5: am. As drowsy as I was I had dunked my head into my cereal and as I was picking it up I had recovered my memory. I realized that today I was going to Florida. My parents had bought a house by Daytona and I couldn’t wait for the beach, sun, gym, and pool but there was one thing. We were going to drive there! Without heavy traffic the car ride would be estimated to about 34 hours. That was a long ride considering the fact that I had lived in Portland, New Hampshire. “Robert get your head out of the cereal and go get ready.” stated Mom. I had thumped up the stairs to go pack my bags, brush my teeth, and change, I had then come downstairs. I grabbed a few pillows and a blanket for the long ride and I went to go sit in the back of my Toyota 4Runner. The next thing I knew my dog Jackie had been licking me in the face, Jackie was a Jack Russell Terrier so, he needed a lot of attention, and my parents brought him because he could not leave him home alone for a week. “How many miles did we drive so far,” I exclaimed. “We drove 102 miles so far” stated Dad. Every time be drove 50 miles that navigation system would make a small beep. I was still exhausted, so I went back to bed hoping that I can just wake up and we will be in Florida. By the time I had waken it we had drove 219 miles. My dad had stopped at a gas station for a bathroom break and gas. I went inside with $1.33 and I came out with Honey BBQ Fritos. When I got back to the car I ate my food as slowly as possible just too waste time. Eventually the bag of Fritos ran out, so I just watched my some movies I rented on my DVD player. I had spent about 3 hours watching my DVD player, because of the fact that I had gotten I headache due to the fact of the bumpy car ride on the freeway. I counted every minute, mile, and hour I had been on this ride. I would do everything really slow and long just to waste time. I felt like a prisoner, and I just wanted to get out for some fresh air. I needed to go out and stretch my legs or do something, anything. “Robert, we are about 22 miles away from out hotel” exclaimed my dad. I was so relieved that I was getting out of the car; it was like a huge boulder was lifted from my shoulders. I was happy that we were going to continue the rest of the ride for tomorrow. “We are here Robert, you can finally get out,” Hollered my Mom. As a had stepped out of the car my knees felt like I had just ran a mile, I had not stretched them or even walked for about 8 hours! As my parents were checking in the Holiday Inn I was taking Jackie out, to pee. This was the only hotel in this area of North Carolina that allowed pets. After Jackie was done I went inside and followed my parents to my room.”Room 133,” my Dad yawned. As I saw the green light come up as the card was slide on the door I had felt a big relief of satisfaction. As soon as the door had opened I just laid down on the bed. I felt great to be on a normal bed, it felt like I was in that car forever. That morning I had been wide awake, and I had bursted out of bed. At first I thought that this was a good thing but, now I knew I couldn’t sleep in the car. At was 7: am and I was starting to feel hungry so we ate at an Ihop across the street. I had ordered the strawberry stuffed French toast with orange juice. The rest of the car ride was not so dreadful. I didn’t have a long way to go and I knew what was waiting for me once I got to my house. I spent my last hours in the car watching “Super Bad” and looking out the window. “Robert five more miles left so clean up all of your garbage,” Exclaimed Mom. As I cleaned up my garbage, I was distracted from the different style of the town. I could hear the 4Runner pull up on the drive way. “We had made it Robert we are finally here,” yelled Dad. Those were the words that I wanted to hear all along. I knew what was waiting for me once I unpacked my bags. I had a pool, beach, and a gym all by me. I no longer had to worry about long car rides, for until I had to go back home.
Hmm, very interesting dream...? Alright, so I've had this dream for the last 2 days. Not the same, but they seem to be linked... The second dream was more vivid than the first, and would actually be easier to tell first, so here it goes. Last night I had a dream, mainly focusing on myself, and the only other person that i recognize was my girlfriend. It started out with my girlfiend, myself, and a strange man, in a suit, slightly overweight. We where in an old village, reminiscent of early villages in London, after they had began building with brick and such. All three of us where trying to get ontop of this old wooden house. It was very stylized in shape, and run down (Looked to be falling apart). The reason for this was, there was an old telescope on top of the building. I had climbed up first, and then helped up my girlfriend. We both helped the other man up to the roof. Right under the roof where we were, there was a balcony with the telescope. So we climbed down to the telescope and I looked through. I could see large gray mountains, with stone paths that people where walking along. I stopped looking through the telescope, and I found myself in a new place. My girlfriend and the man where gone, I seemed to be inside some sort of building (This time it was modern, like an apartment building or hotel) I walked down the hallways until I came to a stop. Here I seen a large circle in the wall, that was like an opening. There was a skateboarder riding inside of the circle, He stopped and began talking to me. He told me "Be careful not to fall..." And I looked out of the circle. It seemed to be a long slick path, like a drainpipe except open. It drained into the ocean, with beaches of sand on each side. And this vision i remember from my first dream. I remember walking along the beach, and seeing this drain and opening. The skater was still riding in the circle then. I had told him that I would be careful, and walked off in another direction. I went through an arcade full of children and teenagers, but they ahd all seemed to be frozen in time. So I just moved on. I walked outside, and it seemed to be a dirt or sand path, with a parking lot on each side. I walked down the path until I seen a shack, with my art teacher standing outside of it. The ground next to me was lined with toys that I had as a kid. I glanced at them as I walked, and soon left the shack. Later I came to what seemed to be an amusement park, or part of one at least. It was very colorful, with bright green and orange decoration. There was nobody there, except for a large dinosaur statue (It was a T-rex). I had sat down and stared at it for a while. Before I got up and started walking away again. I found myself back in the building, and ended up back at the circle in the wall. The skateboarder was gone this time, and there were hallways to the left and right of me. That's all I can remember really, i've never had a dream like this before, and it puzzled me as to what this meant, if it meant anything at all... Any real help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Can you read the first little bit of my novel....thanks for your time....just a few paragraphs would be great! Chapter One The white, warm sand rubbing against my body soothingly. The colorful palm trees is all the rave. Crisp, clear refreshing ocean tumbling into the beach with great determination. All you see is beautiful people wearing nothing but beautiful bathing suits which they probably spent hours and hours trying to find, to get something spectacular. I look back and see this magnificent hotel complex and all of the amenities I could possibly think of. The cool ocean breeze flows over my body while the sun beams light to give me a wonderful free tan. A perfect bronze with a hint of red which will hopefully turn to tan later. A nice refreshing glass of cola filled to the brim with crushed ice and of course the cool sun umbrella. This is so relaxing and wonderful. This is the life. Nothing can wreck this perfect moment. Wait, this is to good to be true. ARG. ARG. ARG. ARG. I knew it! I knew it! It was just a dream again! I can't believe I had that dream again. This is unbelievable. This is the third time this week that I've had this dream and I want it to come true. Too bad I'll never be able to go on vacation. Well it's six o clock. Sorry for all of that fuss but I am just so sick of having that dream. I quickly hop into the shower and wonder whether I will ever get to experience what I experience in my dream. I mean everything is so calm and peaceful I just can't understand why I keep on having that dream. Everything is so perfect, there has to be more to that dream than that. Maybe tonight it will be extended so I can see what's happening. It's probably a sign. Maybe, no never mind. I put some bread in the toaster, I'm still half asleep but I have to hurry up so I can catch the carpool with Jacob. Every other day or so we switch drivers so that we use up less gas. Jacob is totally my best friend in the whole world and I hope he will always be. We are always there for each other when one of us needs a helping hand. I grab my toast, spread some peanut butter on it and head out the door to make my way down to the parking lot where I wait for Jacob to show up. He's a little tardy, sometimes more than others but that's just who he is and as best friends, we have to live with each others annoyances. A few minutes later I see Jacob running out of the building like there was a huge fire in the building. I quickly look up out of habit but see that Jacob just wanted to hurry to the car because we are a couple of minutes late and usually with traffic, a couple here adds ten somewhere else. We both hop into the car once Jacob beeps the horn to signal that the Burnt Orange 2008 Ford Edge is unlocked. Jacob puts the sport utility vehicle (SUV) into reverse and speedily races through the parking lot of the apartment condos backwards. After almost hitting a pole I yell at him to put it in drive and he listened for his life, literally. If you know what and where Toronto is and have ever been there then you know where Jacob and I (Mark) live. By the way, I'm Mark Hatchet. You won't notice my name often through the story because it is written in first person. If your doing some school project about a character then you should probably know some things about me but your not getting off easy because I am going to scatter information about me all over this novel and by the end you will know me like I'm your best friend. Any who which is not a word but it sounds cool, Toronto is Canada's biggest city. If you are not familiar with Canada then check the globe! All Americans should know where Toronto is and that it's near Buffalo. So now at least some of you know where I am. Jacob and I live right near the 401 which is a convenient highway but usually has traffic. We speed down the on ramp to find that we can zip around cars as we fly a couple of kilometers over the speed limit. I look back to see people giving us the finger and of course hear honking from all directions but we could care less. As long as we don't die we are better off doing this. Jacob sees a police officer a few hundred meters up so he slows down just enough to the speed limit, once he was past the cop he raced onto the off ramp and we were once again racing towards our school. You can see the navy and gold colored sign with big block letters reading: St. Anne Catholic High School. It was a big school but all schools in the city are big so I can't really justify. It was a nice looking basically brand new school with a pretty tan brick color and a nice light tan stucco around doors and windows which made it look more like a upscale shopping plaza then a school. Jacob makes a left into the school parking lot then slows down and drives carefully through the lot to the back, basically opposite of how he drove through our condo parking lot! I opened the large metal door and checked my watch, it read eight twenty five which means I have one minute to get to class. For some reason, classes started at eight twenty six which to me is an odd time but I can't change that so I jog up the stairs to the second floor saying bye to Jacob on the way. I don't remember classroom numbers so I remember third door on the right from back entrance up the stairs. Some people wonder why I find that easier but I just do. It makes more sense to me than trying to find room number 214. I mean where's 214 anyway. I open the door with my binder and pencil in hand and quietly find a seat near the front. I have bad eyesight but don't wish to wear glasses so I just sit near the front board. I understand lessons better that way anyway. First period is my favorite subject, English. I have always loved English from poetry to novels to anything related to English. But there is something I don't like about English this year and that's the teacher. Mrs. Walkworth. Mrs. Walkworth is most probably the meanest teacher at this school and I should know because it’s my last year here and I’ve had my fair share of mean teachers but this one tops it off. Saying Mrs. Walkworth in our school makes people cringe. I can honestly say that people egg her classroom window once a month not to mention her house. Nobody is allowed to say anything unless called upon. We are not allowed to get help from anyone at anytime and we never work in pairs or groups. Mrs. Walkworth thinks that working independently makes us smarter which I do agree with because we have to figure problems out on our own but we also need people skills to communicate in English but she doesn’t seem to think so. Mrs. Walkworth is about the total opposite from a people person. She probably lives in a cave wear nobody ever visits her or talks to her on the telephone or even e-mails her. Another reason people are scared of her is her punishments. For example, if you get caught chewing gum in her class she used the slap students across the face and dangle them out the window but since she’s not allowed to do that anymore, she makes the student stretch the gum over his or her face for the rest of the day, and when we have our next assembly, she makes the student chew five pieces of gum (at home of course) then stretch the five pieces over his or her entire body and make a one hundred word speech about not chewing gum in school and it also has to include how great Mrs. Walkworth is. The student then goes into detention for the next month. Yikes! And some people thought detention for a day was bad for chewing gum. Finally, the last reason why people don’t like her and are scared of her are because of the way she looks. Her face is all crinkled up and when she talks she has a raspy sound and her hands tremble with great strength. She weighs about one hundred pounds and she is very tall therefore extremely skinny and she always wears the same clothes. She owns three tops; a blue sleeveless one, a red t shirt that says teacher of the year 1989 and a very ugly faded purple sweater. I’m pretty sure she only wears one pair of pants and they are black with blue polka dots on them. No joke. Teens at our school seem to think she’s 90 years old but nobody knows for sure. Mrs. Walkworth begins with her lesson and tells us to read pages 80-199 for homework and complete a thirty question quiz for tomorrow. I guess we got off easy tonight. Usually it takes me about four hours each night for her homework and looking over what I have to do tonight it might only take a couple of hours. As soon as the bell rings in Mrs. Walkworth’s class, everybody runs out. Students have respect for all teachers besides her. Everyone waits patiently until the teacher says they are dismissed but in her class everyone literally runs! Down the stairs ahead for four classrooms, hang a left and it’s the second door on the right. That’s my next class. At noon thirty the bell rings for half of the school to have lunch. They built the cafeteria to only hold half of the school so it wouldn’t get out of control. I get in line to buy a salad and some pizza and I see our group sitting down at our usual table. Each member of our group is known for something they are good at, we all have different personalities and strengths so we complete each other. Our group includes; me (the English dude), Jacob (the jockey), Sam (the Intelligent one), Rob (the science geek), Nick (the mapmaker), Kyle (the rich kid), Alicia (the drama queen) and Jordan (the quiet kid). Everyday we sit at the same table with the same people and have done that since day one of this year. Some of us were friends last year but because of the two lunches we didn’t have the same lunch and you never have the same class with anybody you knew before so you make new subject buddies but those are just buds who you partner with during that subject. It’s the lunchtime friends who you hang with after school. Once we are all seated we talk about some teen stuff and decide what movie we should see this weekend. Every weekend or so we try to go to the movies together. It usually ends up being a big fight so we chose to become a democracy and vote each week what movie each of us wanted to see. People walk by our table and wonder what the bleep we’re doing but who cares, not us. We don’t need to act popular, we have our own friend group which we are already apart of. We don’t need to impress anybody, nobody does. We just be ourselves and we are friends for who we are not what we are trying to be. We decide on a movie and continue the discussions. By ten o clock that night I was exhausted by all of Mrs. Walkworth’s homework. Two of the questions were mini projects and took a lot longer than expected, by the time I was done it was midnight and I hadn’t even started on any of the other homework given by the other teachers. This is ridiculous I think to myself. How can she wreck the best subject in the world? I feel a blast of energy actually of hatred and I want to go throw a rock through her window but I’m better than that so I decide not to. I have about another hour of homework and I’m already tired, I better get to work. ******************************************** The white warm sand rubbing against my body soothingly. Wait, this is to good to be true. ARG. ARG. ARG. ARG. I wake up with such great hatred toward that stupid dream that I pull my alarm clock out of the wall socket and chuck it at my wall. My mom quickly rushes into my room to see what was up. "Sorry mom but I had that dream again, you know about the sand in some tropical place," I say apologetically. "Mark, you know I want to take you someplace but since your father died we haven't had much income coming in from my job to take you anywhere," mom replies. "I know, it's obviously not your fault and it's not mine either, I'm just tired of having that dream," I cry (not literally). Mom walks out of my room and I begin my daily wake up routine in which I do every school day. I am so fed up with that dream and I'm so fed up with Mrs. Bleeping Walk Bleeping Worth I could just go insane! I begin to shake and also begin to worry about my shaking. Am I going insane? I need to calm down. I put my iPod on and listen to my favorite music, that always seems to calm me down. ****** Once I get into Mrs. Walkworth's classroom I walk straight up to her and tell her, "You need to give out less homework. I was up to one o clock in the morning doing English, I can't stand you! You ruined my favorite subject and you're ruining everyone's lives!" I look around the classroom to see if anybody had heard what I said and they did. People began to clap for me once I finished. It felt really good to have everyone appreciate what I did. Mrs. Walkworth had an ugly look which I wanted but she didn't say anything , I kind of wanted a detention or write a speech then I could slip some information to all the students and teachers watching but she said nothing. I stared at her looking like I wanted an answer and then she sighed, "I have been giving out a lot of homework lately and I'm really sorry class. My husband left a few months ago and I've been really upset. The reason I've been upset since I've been at this school is because my brother got to go to a better university than I did then became what I wanted to become, a doctor. My parents forced me to become a teacher and I hated it so I decided that I would take it out on the students I was forced to teach, I am so sorry to you all," says Mrs. Walkworth with flowing tears. Everybody is silenced. I walk up to and give her a big hug. I don't know why we are all such jerks. This poor lady has gone through heck and back and here I am lecturing her about her teaching. Everyone that threw a rock at her window or egged her window should be ashamed. "I'm so sorry Mrs. Walkworth, I had no idea, I was so selfish," I say crying (literally this time). Usually when a boy cries at school he is made fun of but not today, I look around the room and everyone including the boys had tears. We were so mean to her behind her back and everyone felt so bad. "I think everyone in this classroom including me should be ashamed of themselves, now let's move on with today's work. I promise I will not give out as much homework any more. Heck, tonight, no homework," says Mrs. Walkworth with a smile for once. Applause fills the room again but this time it was for a good reason. You should never judge a book by the cover or the homework it (she) gives out. By the end of the school day everybody knew the Mrs. Walkworth story and teens from all over were coming up to her apologizing for what they did and she also apologized to everyone that came up to her. It was a happy day at St. Anne's today. It should be like a holiday or something, Mrs. Walkworth is like happy and like oh my goodness we should celebrate. Once I got home I saw my mom lying down on the couch crying, I wonder what is wrong. I ask immediately and she says that she was upset about Dad dying and she can't pull herself together. "Mom, we have to get over this. Yes it's sad but life goes on," I say sweetly. "You’re never going to be able to go on your trip though," cried mom. "You don't know that, never have doubt," I say with pride for some weird reason. Mom sits up and I sit next to her on the couch and to my surprise I see a commercial. WOW! A commercial, haven't seen one of those since like the last time I watched television but this commercial was calling out to me. I watched intently; Are you smart? Do you want to go to Mexico? Do you live in Toronto or in the GTA? Then send your information to 178 B....... "Mom, can you believe this, last night in my dream I saw a sign saying Mexico, that's where my dream is taking place, this is a huge sign! " I yell excitedly as I jump up and down. I log onto my computer and find the website, there I print out the information sheet that needs to be filled out. Of course I could do it over the net but I don't trust all of those freaks who want my information. With a black pen I write down everything from my age to my address to my hobbies to my IQ. I fold the pieces of paper two times and neatly stuff it into the envelope and lick it closed. "Do you want me to take you to the post office right now? I have to get some groceries anyway," mom calls from the living room. She is now not crying and actually excited and happy. She wants to see me happy which of course I am. I open the large mail bin flap and slip the letter proudly into the box and close the movable door. I put a big smile on my face and walk back into the car. I think about going to Mexico and all the great fun I'll have. I wonder weather I should take mom or Jacob? I get into the car and ask, "Mom let's say that I get accepted onto the show and I win the trip to Mexico, I can bring a guest. I want to bring you but I think it would be more fun with Jacob, no offence," I say hoping that she'll say okay take Jacob. "I want you to have fun on this vacation but I also want you to be safe in a foreign country. I have an idea, how about you take Jacob as your guest then I fly down with you guys and stay in your room. You can totally ignore me if you'd like," she says. "Mom, wouldn't that be kind of awkward, can just me and Jacob go, I mean I probably won't get on to the show but if I do?" I ask. "Mark, I don't know, I'm going to have to think about it and if and when you do win I'll give you an answer," explains mom and I nod with agreement. I really don't want my mom in the room with Jacob and I, it would be really awkward but then I think that I'm probably not going to win anyway so I blow it off. In the night I don't dream the same vacation dream that I usually dream, this time I dream that I am all alone in the hotel looking for Jacob who seems to be lost, I can't find him then I wake up. I decide not to tell mom about the dream because then she would say it was a sign and that I'm defiantly not going. It can't be a sign, I mean come on, it's just a dream. Weird things happen in dreams all of the time. Nothing actually happens. But what if it is a sign? What if I do win and I go with Jacob and he goes missing? I start to get nervous and then shake my head which seemed to relax my nerves. There's probably more to the story I mean dream than what I saw last night. Maybe tonight I will dream the dream again but I find him at the restaurant or the pool or oh I have to call Jacob. I pick up the phone and dial Jacob's cell number. I don't care how early it is, I need to talk to him about this ordeal. "Hi Jacob, ummm.. were do I begin? I saw this television commercial last night about a new game show coming to Toronto so I sent an application form in and if you win you get to go to Mexico with a friend and ummm... I had this dream last night that we were in the hotel and you were erere missing. I know it's just a dream but for the last oh I can't even remember I've been having this dream that I'm in this warm tropical place and I have it over and over each night basically until last night when I had the dream about you being missing. I feel it's the next part of the story. This is really weird and it's kind of really freaking me out. I can't help but wonder what's going to happen," I say with a shake in my voice, it felt so good to tell Jacob this whole story and I hope he has some advice. "Listen Mark, it's just a dream and it's really early in the morning and boy you have a lot of energy to ahhahhahmmm sorry I yawn a lot at this time in the morning but anyway don't worry about it and I'll see you at eight, bye," says Jacob with a serious sleepy voice. "Bye," I add. I press end on my cell phone and get ready to go to school. I hop into the shower and put the temperature to warm which I usually do because I love warm water and my favorite part of the day is my shower, it's so relaxing and calming and nothing bothers me in the shower. All my worries seem to float away in the shower but as soon I as I get out all of the worries and thoughts fly back into my head and I begin to worry again. I worry a lot actually. It's basically like a disorder and I can't help but worry what is to come and worry if something I did in the past is going to hurt me in any way. I dry off quickly realizing that I had a really long shower but I forgave myself because I knew I really needed it. I go and put on my uniform which actually looks quite good on me and who can argue the fact that you don't have to buy all of the top names to fit in because everyone has to wear the same level of clothing, also there is no grubby kids that wear an old ratty shirt or you know those emo kids with their black and depressive clothes. Nope just everyone the same and that's the way I like it. I open the box of Frosted Flakes which is my all time favorite cereal. Splash some 1% on them and eat away. I love it so much that once I'm done I pour myself another bowl. Mom walks in and gives me a quick smile then heads for her coffee. Don't mess with mom when she hasn't got her coffee in her, I don't really understand why coffee is the liquid God of everybody. If you have ever been to Canada or you know, live here, then you know that there is a place called Tim Hortons on every on other street corner. It's insane! And even with all of the locations, there is still a huge lineup at each one. Canadians like their coffee eh?! I tried it a couple of times but no matter how old I get my taste buds just reject that awful taste. I don't need coffee anyway because I usual wake up and I am ready to go in just a few minutes. I walk over to the television which either showed me my vacation was possible or that Jacob being lost was possible so I wasn't sure whether to hug it or kick it so I decided to do neither. If the television production company asks for me to be on the show, I can just recline but I really want to go to Mexico and now I am finally getting a chance to go somewhere I have been waiting to go for 17 years, but do I want to go to Mexico so badly that I'm willing to lose a friend over it? No, it was just a dream. Jacob even said so. I have to stop this worrying, I really do. The phone rings, actually it vibrates. I bring my cell to school and to make sure that teachers don't know I turn vibrate on before I even get into the school. I open the flap and see that it's Jacob so I press Talk which is in green lettering then say, "hello, Jacob? What's up?" "Oh nothing much I was calling to say that I was sorry for being a jerk this morning on the phone and I really appreciate you taking me as your guest, it means a lot. I thought you'd take your mom or something. I really hope that you win, Mexico sounds like fun!" says Jacob with an excited tone. "Jacob, I'll tell you the whole story in the car, well there's actually not much more to it but I don't want to waste your minutes so we can wait. See you soon," I smile into the phone hoping that he can see that I'm smiling and not frowning on the inside because now Jacob really wants to go but he doesn't want my mom going I know that for sure. But if Jacob and I go alone then what happens when Jacob gets lost if he really does. Oh my, I really need to stop worrying about this whole situation and I really need to spend more time looking over my homework. Every single day in the morning even though I think I have the answers right I still go through every thing and check them. You never know when you make a mistake that can be easily fixed. I really care about my marks so I do this on a regular basis. I look up on the microwave clock and see that it is seven fifty five therefore I should probably head down to the parking lot now. I really want to tell Jacob about everything. I need someone I can trust besides my mom because I know what she'll decide and I really do want to go to Mexico so, yes I'll tell Jacob and if he thinks that we shouldn't go and it is a sign then we won't. Done, and now I don't have to think about it till Jacob wants the whole story. I see Jacob come out of the thirty story building at ground level and he waves his large hand. He yells from a distance and I can barely hear him but what I make out from the words are, "Mark, I want you to tell me everything." I motion for Jacob to come letting him know that we need to be in the car to talk. I don't need a bunch of strangers hearing about my crazy weirdo dreams. Jacob walks up to the car and gets him. I follow suit. "So what's the whole story?" asks Jacob putting the SUV into reverse. "Listen Jacob, I just want to know deep down if you think having that dream where you were lost was a sign or not. Also my mom does want to go; but not with me, on her own. She wants me to take you and still come so we can be safe. I didn't even tell her about the dream and she still says that," I explain. "No I don't think it's a sign and it would be really weird having your mom there. Would she be in a different room though?" asks Jacob wanting a certain answer that sadly I cannot give him. "Sadly, she wants to stay in the same room and can't afford to stay in a different room," I say staring into the deep and confusing eyes of my best friend. "Oh, well, I was just wondering what you felt. How do you feel about this Mark?" quizzes Jacob. "I'll go if I win, if you want to that is, but no, I don't want my mom there either so, yeah. I guess that's the whole story. See, I told you it wasn't very long," I say. We pull up to the St. Anne parking lot and I can't help but wonder whether or not people will still be talking about Mrs. Walkworth. Of course not, I mean this is high school were there is a different story everyday. Everyone will be talking about something different by now, it's been one whole day which means half of the students here would have forgotten it. The other half just wouldn't care anymore. Old news is looked down upon and it wasn't even a big deal anyway. I mean once a famous celebrity came to our school because she went here when she was in high school and by the next day people weren't giving a fuss about what had happened a day before. I wonder if Mrs. Walkworth is going to give a lot of work again today. If she does than I know what to say. "Hello Mrs. Walkworth. It's a loving morning out isn't now?" I ask Mrs. Walkworth as I walk into her classroom with a big smile. "A wonderful day indeed. I feel absolutely amazing," smiles Mrs. Walkworth and right then and there I knew she wasn't going to give out a lot of homework. "Take your seats everyone. Today you are going to have homework. I thought about it last night and I decided to give you the same amount of homework that every other teacher gives you, well besides for the physical education class. I actually called the University of Toronto and got a hold of the English teacher there. She is one of my best friends. I'll tell you a story actually: When I was forced to go to teacher college, I hated it but made one friend in particular there. Her name is Mrs. Jenkins. She was the smartest student in the whole school and once she graduated she got to pick what level of schooling she wanted to teach at and what school. She picked University because it pays the highest and at University of Toronto which is the closest University to her house. So I was talking to her about how much homework she gives out in a night and what she said shocked me when she said one half hour of homework. Be aware this is University homework so it's pretty difficult but only one half hour. After talking to Mrs. Jenkins I got on the phone with other grade twelve teachers and found out that they each gave you one half hour for their subjects so all in all I decided to cut the homework load down for you guys and you better thank me." "Thank-you Mrs. Walkworth," everybody in the whole class yells in unity. It sounded really good to tell you the truth because it was not planned or anything. All the students in my class just decided about three seconds after she finished her last words to say thank-you. I and probably many other students were relieved. I might actually have a life now instead of my life being Mrs. Walkworth's homework. I look to the left of me and see the most beautiful girl in the whole school. All year I've been looking back and forth at her and her long straight blonde hair. Her complexion is light brown and looks as though she goes to a tanning salon once in a while. She has absolutely no acne and the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen. Her name is Julie Appleton and she is also the most richest kid at our school. She always has a boyfriend buying her flowers or taking her to the movies or taking her out to dinner. I mean no wonder she's so rich, everyone is buying things for her. I also wondered what it would be like to go on a date with her. It would probably cost all my life savings to impress her which I am not willing to give up. Julie looks over and sees me staring at her. I quickly dart my head over into the other direction pretending I was starring at the posters on the wall. I slowly turn the other direction to see if she's still looking at me in disgust but to my surprise when I look at her she's starring at me, not with a frown but with a smile. I smile back then look back at Mrs. Walkworth who is trying to teach a lesson. I feel a nudge on my arm. I look over and see it's a note, Julie is giving me a note. She only gives notes to her best friends and crushes. Maybe it just went through her to me. She probably didn't write it. I open the folded piece of paper to read in beautiful hand writing; I saw you starring at me Mark so I starred back. I have a boyfriend but I like you to. Love Julie. Oh my goodness, it was from Julie. I automatically look at Julie and blow her a kiss. She blows one back but before the imaginary kiss gets to me, Mrs. Walkworth stands beside our desks and says, "quit interrupting me you love birds!" Uh-oh. Mrs. Walkworth just blew it and now the whole class is going to know then spread it to the rest of the school and her boyfriend goes to this school and he happens to be on the wrestling team and football team and a heavy weightlifter. He could probably lift me up in one arm, throw me into the air and punch me down. I'm dead! I take a big gulp and hear murmurs from the class and know for sure that I'm dead. I can't believe this. I begin to cry on the inside but I don't dare show any emotion on the outside. Out of the blue, Julie stands up and stares at everyone talking to each other about what just happened and says, " enough already! I obviously don't like this guy and I love my boyfriend, I was just making him feel good." I swear a tear began to come down my cheek so I wiped it off with my hand. This is the lowest I have ever felt in my entire life. I want to go lay down and die somewhere before I want to keep on going with this day. I thought for sure that Julie liked me but I guess she was just trying to make me feel good. I should have known that I'm not the type of person that she would go out with. I'm so stupid. By lunch, every single person was talking about what happened. Well at least I was right about everyone will be over the Mrs. Walkworth thing but for once in my life I wish I was wrong because now all of the hype is about me and it doesn't feel good. "Hey Mark, you better watch out. I think Steve is coming in soon. You're so dead man. I really want to see this," says a person who I have never met before but now everyone knows who I am so it really doesn't matter if I know them. Gulp. I see Steve who by the way is Julie's boyfriend if you haven't figured that one out yet. He looks angry which is perfectly normal when you want to cream a little person like me. Actually I'm not little and I workout and all it's just that Steve is like the next Terminator so I don't really have a chance. His group of friends follow behind him, all are smaller than him but I guess look up to him for some reason and follow him around all of the time. This is just perfect. I want to run but I know that he would catch me or one of his friends would catch me then probably do worst things. I call over Jacob to sit with me so at least I will have someone sort of big to fend for me. He quickly runs over and sits down just in time for Steve to say something. "Hey scrawny! I heard that you were trying to steal my girlfriend!" Steve shouts with anger. My palms are like puddles of water floating on top of my skin so I rub them onto my pants and wish myself luck. " Well she doesn't like me so what's your point?" I ask with uncertainty. "My point is that nobody tries to take my girl," Steve says with great power. He unzips his sweater to reveal his muscle shirt underneath. I guess he was trying to get some attention when he put up his biceps and flexed for the students to see. His muscles were huge and I wondered how many hours he spent at a gym or if he took steroids. Cheers came from around the cafeteria, mostly from girls but some guys also cheered for the sake of him attacking me to a pulp. He walks over right to my face and punches me across my cheek. Blood is spurting everywhere and with great power I stand up and punch him right back right in the same place where he punched me. Nothing happened to him of course but all of my friends take me back to my seat. I see blood all over and feel very dizzy and I want to throw up. I see that Steve is just touching his cheek like it just stung a little but I could see inside that it really did hurt him. That made me feel a bit better but what made me feel worse was that Steve took his hand away from his cheek and screamed, "I win!" He also flexed his unusually large biceps again to show that he was the ruler of the school and that if anyone tried to mess with him they would be bleeding. "I hate him so much," I said between heavy breaths. "We all do," said Jacob with a sigh. I wished I was dead again so when my group of friends went to their classes and I was stuck alone that I wouldn't be tortured. The end of lunch bell rang just at the time when I didn't want it to ring. I began to cry but didn't care because I deserved a cry. I was humiliated in front of the whole school and punched by the strongest guy around. I was in serious pain so I got up and walked out of the cafeteria toward the nurses office. I open the door trying to get away from the crowds of people wanting to ask what happened and how I felt. The nurse walked over to me and grabbed some tissues, put them over my face and told me to sit down. "What happened to you?" the nurse asked wondering what the heck happened. "Long story," I replied without enthusiasm. "Well your not going back to class so I have time and you have time," the nurse replies trying to sneak an answer out of me. "Okay, I might as well tell you because if I don't then any other kid in the school will and he or she might change it so it's probably better if I tell the truth about what happened. It all started this morning when Julie and I were caught passing notes and blah blah blah and Mrs. Walkworth said something in front of the class which I forget what but anyway everyone in the class told everyone in the school and everyone in the school includes Julie's boyfriend who has a very bad temper by the way and at lunch he made a big deal about his muscles and then punched me and then showed off his muscles again then left and the end of lunch bell rang and now I'm here," I told the nurse. "Steve Richardson punched you? You're still talking? You're still breathing? Wow," replies the nurse obviously shocked. "You know who Julie is and who her boyfriend is and his last name and what Julie I was talking about?" I said astonished. "Well I know the popular people because they always come in here to skip class and they always talk about their life. I don't get mad at them because it's sort of my hobby to hear all of the problems in the school and who's dating who," the nurse says with a smile. "Right," I reply slowly pronouncing each letter. "Steve is huge, I mean he's always at my gym and I talk to people who were there before me and they say that he was there before they got there and it's pretty unbelievable. He sure gets his gym membership money out of it that's for sure. To tell you the truth I don't think he's on steroids which is very surprising considering his strength," the nurse wonders. "I really don't want to leave this room. I really don't feel like being bothered right now. I just want to stay in this chair till everybody leaves then ride the city bus home in a very large coat where nobody will notice me," I say in a depressing tone. The nurse’s nameplate flashes its golden letters at me. It says “Paddy”. Paddy begins to laugh, I look at her. "People might think that your a terrorist," nurse Paddy replies. "Fine, then can you tell Jacob to wait for me after school until everyone else leaves then we can go home?" I ask Paddy hoping that she will say yes and that I won't have to face my fears. "Sure." I put a very large smile on my face.

is this a good start of a story? As me my family arrived in Sri Lanka I was really exited. We walked of the plane, into the beautiful heat of the country. The bus arrived and took us to our hotel. We got off the bus and looked at the sea it was gorgeous the sea was calm but the waves were crashing against the rocks. When we walked into the hotel they started greeting us and giving us wet towels to wipe our faces and to cool us down. They also gave us drinks of orange juice. 10 minutes later we walked to our room and unpacked. There was a little balcony with an elegant view of the sea and swimming pool. The swimming pool was amazing it seemed like it went on forever and ever. We went for a short walk, we were tired from the long journey but we still went for a walk so we could stay asleep until night time. There were a few shops called Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury’s. We went into them and had a look, there was lots of stuff. Once we had looked in all the shops we walked back, on our way back we met a man called Blacky. He was telling us about the tsunami, he was there when it happened and he watched people get pulled into the sea, he was feeling helpless not being able to help and people were shouting and screaming. He also said that there used to be a beach but when the tsunami happened it washed away the beach and now the current in the sea is to dangerous for people to go in it. i am only 12
